Opposition in Karnataka charges BJP of luring MLAs

Opposition parties in Karnataka have accused BJP of indulging in horse trading to lure their MLAs. At a press conference in Bangalore today former Prime Minister and JD(S) National President H D Deve Gowda Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa with poaching Opposition MLA's through 'Operation Lotus' to protect his chair. Deve Gowda’s son and State JD(S) President Kumaraswamy met the Governor Hans Raj Bharadwaj today and handed over a memorandum and a CD containing purportedly a video of a BJP MLA offering money to a JD(S) member for quitting the party and joining BJP.Speaking to the media persons after the meeting, Kumaraswamy said that he has urged the Governor to recommend President Rule in the state based on the CD submitted by him. This morning, Congress led by its State President R V Deshpande held protest rally in Bangalore against alleged horse trading by BJP. Deshpande said, the resignation of two Congress MLAs and one JD(S) member during the two trust votes, has proved their charge. But Chief Minister Yeddyurappa has denied all the charges.Justice V G Sabhahit of the Karnataka High Court had yesterday reserved the Judgement on 11 BJP MLAs disqualified by the Speaker for anti party activities. Another case on five Independent MLAs disqualified by the Speaker is listed in the High Court on November 2.
