The Tamil Nadu Governor Mr. Surjit Singh Barnala in his customary speech at the State Assembly has urged the Centre to impress upon the Government of Sri Lanka for the speedy rehabilitation of the displaced Tamils and he also urged the Centre to take measures to protect the Tamil Nadu fishermen from attacks by the Sri Lankan Navy.The Governor delivering his customary address today at the State Assembly urged the Centre to bring in suitable Constitutional amendments to ensure 33 percent reservation for women in Parliament and State legislatures.The State Government today announced constitution of a committee headed by a retired Madras High Court Judge to go into the charges of non scheduled caste people taking away panchami lands assigned to scheduled caste poor in the State. He also said that Tamilnadu has attracted an investment of 50 thousand crores and is emerging as a favourite industrial destinationEarlier, the opposition members led by AIADMK were today evicted from the Assembly when they disrupted the customary Governor’s address to the House. Soon after Governor Surjeet Singh Barnala rose to deliver his customary address the entire opposition wearing black shirts were on their feet and shouted slogans. As the confusion reached a feverish pitch the Speaker Mr.R.Avudaiappan ordered the marshals to evict the AIADMK ,CPI,CPI (M) and MDMK members from the House for disrupting the proceedings. The commotion extended for 15 minutes as the members were evicted by the marshals.
