Opposition demands CBI inquiry in Garland made of Currency notes

In Uttar Pradesh the major opposition parties and political outfits of the state have demanded CBI inquiry into the matter of garland of currency notes of one thousand denominations which was offered to party supremo Mayawati on the occasion of silver jubilee celebration of BSP .<br/><br/>Samajwadi Party leader and leader of the opposition in state assembly Mr. Shivpal Singh Yadav has said that the Income Tax Department should also conduct an inquiry into the matter.<br/><br/>The state vice president of BJP and party spokes person Mr. Hriday Narain Dixit has said the garland episode was one more example of BSP's attempt to institutionalise corruption. He demanded a clarification from the Chief Minister on the episode.<br/><br/>The Communist Party of India also charged Ms Mayawati with misusing government machinery which was a matter of concern for all. AIR correspondent said that<br/><br/>Earlier addressing a massive rally at Lucknow organised to celebrate silver jubilee celebrations of the party Ms Mayawati blamed the opposition parties for trying to misguide the public by raising false charges of unnecessary expenditure on memorials and parks set up by her government in the names of Dalit icons.
