In Puducherry, the dawn to dusk bandh called by AIADMK led opposition parties which evoked partial response passed off peacefully The bandh had been called demanding that the Centre recall Lt Governor Mr. Iqbal Singh for his alleged involvement in several controversies including his links with Hasan Ali, jailed for money laundering and tax evasion.Normal life remained unaffected. State run buses plied as usual, while private bus services were off the road. Several shops and business establishments remained closed. However, government offices and banks functioned normally. Senior Superintendent of Police, Mr Atul Kattar said that no untoward incident was reported. The AIADMK claimed that the bandh was successful.
