Opposition all set to take on govt. on price rise & other issues

The opposition is all set to take on the government on price rise and a host of other issues. Senior BJP leader Mr. S.S. Ahluwalia said that the party has decided to give a notice for adjournment motion on the price rise in Lok Sabha. Briefing media after a meeting of NDA held in New Delhi this afternoon, Mr. Ahluwalia said that the NDA will demand a debate on the issue in Rajya Sabha under Rule 168 which entails voting. Left and some other parties are also planning to move separate adjournment motions on the issue. The BJP is also likely to raise the issues of Bhopal Gas Tragedy, the recent Indo-Pak Foreign Secretary level talks and the alleged misuse of CBI in the Sohrabuddin fake encounter case. The UPA government on the other hand will bring in more than 30 bills including the direct Tax code, whistle blower bill and the Civil Nuclear Liability bill and the Womens Reservation Bill are also listed for consideration and passing.On the opening day of the monsoon session, both the Houses were adjourned for the day after paying rich tributes to the former vice president Bhairo Singh Sekhawat, sitting and former members who died during the intra session period. In the Rajya Sabha 52 new and reelected members took oath. They included Information and Broadcasting minister Ms Ambika Soni, the commerce and industry minister Anand Sharma, BJP leader Venkaiah Naidu, noted lawyer Ram Jethmalani and industrialist Vijay Mallya.
