Opp protests on Aviation Min absence leads to LS adjournment

The Lok Sabha was adjourned till 2 p.m. today following protests by the Opposition members on the absence of the Civil Aviation Minister in the House. The members also alleged that the Minister had made certain announcements outside Parliament.

The issue came up when the House was discussing comprehensive policy changes in the Civil Aviation sector. Left Party leaders Basudev Acharia and Gurudas Dasgupta had raised the issue. The opposition members from other parties also joined in the protest forcing the Chair to adjourn the House till 2 p.m.
