Opp disrupts Parl seeking PM''s resignation on coalgate; govt rejects demand

Parliamentary Affairs Minister Kamal Nath has said that there is no question of the Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh resigning on the coal block allocations issue. Talking to reporters outside Parliament today, Mr Nath alleged that the BJP’s demand for Dr Singh’s resignation is only a diversionary tactic. He said the main opposition is trying to divert attention from some of the core issues.
Mr Nath said the BJP has been demanding Prime Minister’s resignation on several occasions in the last nine years. He said there is no meaning in discussing such issues outside Parliament.
Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari has said the CBI has already clarified that it will submit an affidavit to the Supreme Court in this regard. He said the BJP’s demand for sacking of the Law and Justice Minister is not justified.
