Operations against Maoists will continue: WB Govt.

The West Bengal Government today categorically said that operations against Maoists will continue despite Monday's brutal attack on security force. The State Chief Secretary, Mr. Ashok Mohan Chakraborty told in Kolkata this morning that there is no question of going back from joint operation against Maoists. The Chief Secretary said that the government will not tolerate any move to create instability in the State and security force is ready to give befitting reply to Maoists. AIR Kolkata Correspondent reports that the State Director General of Police, Mr. Bhupinder Singh is visiting the Binpur Police Station area in West Midnapore district to have a first hand report of the incident. Mr. Singh admitted that there were security lapse behind the incident. He said that the camp of the security force at Silda has been shifted. The DGP claimed that three Maoists were killed during the encounter with security force on Monday night. Mr. Singh accompanied by top police and other officials of the State Government told the media that appropriate actions are being taken against Maoists. He also asked his counter part in Jharkhand to carry out similar operations to flush out the extremists.<br/>
