The training of athletes for the coming London Olympics is in progress. The Sports Ministry has launched a project called Operation Excellence for London Olympics 2012 or OPEX 2012 for this purpose. Under the project, the athletes are being provided intensive training within the country and abroad. They are also exposed to international sports competitions from time to time to enable them develop proper competitive instincts. There is no lack of funds and facilities for their training. Sports Minister Ajay Maken gave this information in the Lok Sabha today.
