Only treated sewage water will be used for IPL venues: BCCI to HC

BCCI today informed the Bombay High Court that only treated sewage water will be used to prepare the venues for cricket matches for the domestic IPL tournament. The cricket body's move is aimed at ensuring that the water is not wasted in drought-hit Maharashtra.BCCI said in the court that it will use treated sewage water provided by the Mumbai Turf Club for preparing pitches in the stadia for IPL's matches. The High Court had allowed the tournament's debut match to be played at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. But the fate of the remaining 19 matches in the state hangs in the balance.
