Union Minister for Skill Development Rajiv Pratap Rudy has said only about ten percent of the graduates in the country are trained in basic skills, as against South Korea's figure of 96 percent.<br/><br/>Addressing the Education Conclave underway in Chennai, organized by The New Indian Express, he said in the last 67 years skill was thought to be a part of education though a surge in skilled manpower has not happened yet. <br/><br/>He lamented that even among the engineering graduates, 80 percent people remain unemployable. A suitable ecosystem is being developed in India at a faster pace to transform unemployable youth into skilled manpower, he said.
