Planning Commission’s Deputy Chairman Montek Singh Ahluwalia has said that the recent spike in onion prices will not have any impact on Government's medium term inflation assessment. Speaking at a function organised by IIT Bombay on Friday Ahluwalia said that the agricultural production has been very good this year and added that the short term problem caused by the rising onion prices was completely under control. Ahluwalia also said that the government expects inflation to go down to 6 per cent by end March 2012.
