Onion prices likely to come down after two-three weeks

The government has said, the skyrocketing Onion price is likely to come down after two-three weeks. Agriculture Minister Sharad Pawar said, the situation is likely to improve thereafter in the wake of its move to ban exports of the commodity. He was talking to reporters on the side lines of a function in New Delhi today.Yesterday, the government decided to suspend onion exports till 15th of January 2011 in the light of daily increasing price of the commodity, which have jumped to around 60-70 rupees a kilo due to hoarding and speculation. The prices of onions have soared in retail markets in Delhi and many other important cities of the country from 35-40 rupees just a few days ago.
