Centre has asked all the state governments to take immediate action against hoarding and black-marketing of onions. Talking to reporters in New Delhi yesterday, Food Minister Ram Vilas Paswan said, his Ministry has taken several measures to check prices of onions in the last few weeks. He said, Centre is in the process of importing 10,000 tonnes of onions which will help increase supplies in the market. Mr Paswan said, Nafed has floated a tender for onion imports and the bids will be finalised this week. He said, his Ministry has imposed stock holding limits on onion and so far, three states have imposed stock limits.<br/><br/>The Minister said, government has asked states to strengthen enforcement efforts and crack down on hoarders and profiteers.<br/><br/><br/>
