In Mizoram, the ongoing total lockdown, which is supposed to continue till morning of 17th May, has been extended by one more week across the state. An order issued today by the Chief Secretary and Chairman of the state disaster management authority Lalnunmawia Chuaungo said, the total lockdown will continue to remain in force till 4 am of 24th May. <br />'' <br />''In the state, infection cases are rising in spite of the stringent measures taken. Keeping this in view, the state authority has decided to continue with the total lockdown to flatten the curve of the transmission. In the state, the total lockdown in this month was first clamped at 4 O'clock in the morning of 10th May.<br />'' <br />''<span style="color: #222222;">During the lockdown period, all state government offices barring health and family welfare, home, disaster management and rehabilitation, finance, information and public relations, district administrations will remain closed. Markets and shops, Intra-state and inter-village movements will also continue to be closed. Events and gatherings in places of worship, educational institutions, public parks will also continue to be prohibited during the lockdown.</span><br />
