Finance Minister Pranab Mukherjee has termed the ONGC stake sale as a great success. Speaking to reporters late last night Mr. Mukherjee said, the government has raised 12,666 crore rupees from auction of its 5 per cent stake in the oil major. He said, the latest figure from auction of ONGC shares comes to 98.3 per cent subscription. He said the auction route to sell government stake in a PSU was a highly experimental option.
