In the Delhi Assembly today, One Time Settlement Scheme of Delhi Jal Board was discussed. During the discussion, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal accused the opposition of not allowing the implementation of the scheme to correct the wrong water bills of more than 10 lakh people. Mr. Kejriwal said that under the scheme, ninety percent consumers will be waived off from paying their water bill. He said that One Time Settlement Scheme was passed by the Delhi Jal Board on 13th June last year, but even after eight months it has not been implemented. The resolution brought in the House on the scheme was passed by majority vote.
''
''Opposition Leader in the house, BJP's Ramveer Singh Bidhuri alleged that the Kejriwal government itself sends wrong water bills to the people, and then presents a plan to waive off the bills. He further claimed that when such plans are not implemented, the blame is put on the officials. Mr. Bidhuri further said that the Delhi government should explain how the Jal Board, which was in profit of 600 crore rupees in 2013, has now gone into loss of 75 thousand crore rupees.
