<span style="color: #222222;">In the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir, one terrorist was killed in an encounter that erupted Friday afternoon between terrorists and security forces in Hanjipora area of South Kashmir's Shopian district.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">According to police, the encounter broke out after a joint team of security forces launched a Cordon and Search Operation (CASO) based on a specific input about the presence of terrorists in the area.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">As the joint team approached towards the suspected spot, the terrorists fired upon security forces who in retaliation killed the terrorist.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The identity of the slain terrorist is being ascertained.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The second terrorist of Lashkar-e-Toiba (LeT) terror outfit surrendered alongwith AK 56 rifle before the security forces during the live encounter.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Meanwhile, in north Kashmir, Kupwara Police alongwith 7 Rashtriya Rifles and 87 Bn Border Security Force foiled an infiltration bid at Tangdhar area and recovered arms, ammunition & drugs left behind by the infiltrators.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"> </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">The recoveries include 01 AK 47 rifle, 01 Pistol, 02 grenades & other ammunition besides 06 packets of Heroin having market value of Rs. 30 crores approximately.</span><br />''  <br />
