A police officer was killed and four policemen were injured in an encounter with Naxals near Naaldih under Kathi Kund police station of Dumka District in Jharkhand. The injured have been admitted to Dumka government hospital. In the ongoing encounter more than 100 policemen of 10 police stations of Dumka districts is taking part. One helicopter has been sent to bring the injured to Ranchi for treatment. I G Operations and other senior police officers of the state are rushing to the spot. Deputy Inspector General of Police B K Pandey said the officer-in-charge of Jama police station Sadananda Singh died on the spot when a bullet hit him in the head during the gunfight.
