A 32-year-old man has been arrested in connection with the racist attack on two Manipuri women a few days ago in South Delhi. The police arrested him yesterday from Kotla Mubarakpur area.

Police have booked him under sections of SC/ST Act, besides various sections of Indian Penal Code in the case.

The incident occured on 25th January and the accused was arrested seven days after the incident.

The police faced criticism over delay in filing an FIR and alleged inaction. The incident, came to light following an uproar over the death of a student from northeast, Nido Tania, who was allegedly assaulted by shopkeepers on January 29 in South Delhi.
