One-Off Test: Indian eves beat England by 6 wickets

At Wormsley, United Kingdom, the Indian women's cricket team have defeated England eves by six wickets in the one-off Test. On the fourth and final on Saturday, Skipper Mithali Raj led from the front with a gutsy unbeaten 50 as Indian eves achieved a competitive target of181 runs with consummate ease. Resuming at their overnight second innings score of 119 for four, Indian eves required only 62 runs more the final day. The fifth wicket pair of Mithali and Shikha Pandey added 68 runs to ensure a smooth sailing. Shika Pandey was not out on 28. This is the first Test that the eves played after a eight-year hiatus with eight players in the starting XI making their Test debut. The women's team also achieved a remarkable feat, which the Indian men have never achieved in England, by winning back-to-back Test series. The Indian Eves had won the one-off 'Test' at Taunton in 2006.The final scores: England – 92 and 202 India – 114 and 181 for four.
