<span style="color: #222222;">The One Nation One Ration Card scheme commenced in Andaman and Nicobar Islands on Monday,30 November. The Aadhar Enabled Biometric e-POS machines have been installed at nearly 50 shops in the islands. The Director, Department of Civil Supply Dr. Navlendra Kumar Singh informed about the same and affirmed that work is being rapidly done to set up these e-POS machines at all 458 Fair Price Shops of the islands. The work is likely to be completed by 15th December. Mr Singh further added that it was difficult to implement the scheme in the islands due to connectivity issues but after having high speed internet through undersea cable in August, the project got momentum.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">  </span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;">Now, beneficiaries especially migrant workers under NFSA may get advantage of the scheme in Andaman and Nicobar in midst of COVID-19 Pandemic. Similarly, the islanders will also be able to have the quota of their rations at the place where they are moving to in the mainland. The scheme will be a big step to ease out the hurdles in getting ration. It will also help in curbing black marketing and duplicacy. It is to mention that 28 states and UTs have joined on the network under One Nation One Ration Card. Rest are required to join by March, 2021.</span><br />
