In Jammu and Kashmir, one top militant was killed in an encounter at Batpora village of Awantipora tehsil in Pulwama district. According to police sources, the gun battle between militants and security forces started on Saturday when police and security forces cordoned off the Batpora village near Malangpora in south Kashmir after having specific information of presence of militants. SP Awantipora, Bashir Ahmad Khan told AIR correspondent that encounter was concluded and slain militant was identified as Parvez Ahmad Bhatt resident of Malangpora Pulwama belongs to Hizbul-Mujahideen outfit. <br/><br/>According to police sources, the killed militant was operating in the area from last ten years. One AK 47 rifle and some ammunition was also recovered from the site.
