A militant was killed in an overnight encounter with security forces in Handwara area of north Kashmir's Kupwara district. An army official said, the operation is still in progress as there are inputs about presence of more militants in the area. The encounter broke out in the forests of Wader Bala in Zachaldara area, 100 kms from Srinagar, yesterday after security forces launched a cordon and search operation following information about presence of militants there.<br/><br/>The official said, there were no casualties on the security forces side in the operation so far.<br/>
