In Odisha, one lady Maoist has been killed in a brief gun battle between security forces and the rebels near a forest area in Malkangiri district Sunday morning. The gun fight took place near Tentulipadar under Orkel police station when a police party, comprising personnel of the district volunteer force and special operations group, came face to face with a group of rebels. Deputy Inspector General of Police, South Western Range of Odisha, Soumendra Priyadarshi, said the force retaliated after the rebels opened fire at them. He said the Maoists escaped into the forest after the gun battle. There has been no injury to the security personnel.
