In Assam, one person has died and another two persons injured in a grenade blast at Basugaon in Chirang district on Wednesday evening. State Law and Order IGP said that search operation is on to nab the culprits who lobbed the grenade .The injured persons were returning home after participating in Durga idol immersion. They were rushed to the hospital.

Meanwhile, Dhubri district administration has clamped curfew for 12 hours at Dhubri police station area from five pm on Wednesday evening after local people demanded arrest of the miscreants who attacked and injured a youth on Tuesday night. Police resorted to tear gas and blank firing to control the errant mob .Security has been intensified at Dhubri town area.
