One Jawan killed in Pak firing in Samba sector of J&K; 3 Pak rangers killed in retaliation

In yet another incidence of ceasefire violation from across the border, Pakistan forces today resorted to heavy firing on Indian forward posts in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir, which left one BSF personnel killed and another injured. Defence sources said, the Pakistan Rangers opened fire in Ragaal area of the sector around 1 PM today. BSF retaliated to the firing and the exchange of fire last for 4 hours.

Meanwhile, Home Minister Rajnath Singh has asked Border Security Force (BSF) to give appropriate reply to any unprovoked firing by Pakistan at the international border in Samba sector of Jammu and Kashmir. Director General of BSF, D. K. Pathak today briefed Mr. Singh in New Delhi about the ceasefire violations in the area. He informed the Home Minister that the retaliatory firing from Indian side stopped in the evening when Pakistan rangers waved white flag for ceasefire. Mr. Pathak said the situation is totally under control. The DG said earlier one BSF jawan was killed in the unprovoked and premeditated firing incident and three Pak rangers were also reportedly killed and some others injured in the effective retaliation by the Indian side.
