Minister of state for Information & Broadcasting Colonel Rajyavardhan Singh Rathore has said that one hundred new stations of All India Radio will be opened in the country shortly. Speaking after laying the foundation stone of a 10 KW FM transmitter along with its radio station? ?at Meerut today, Col. <br/><br/>Rathore said that Akashwani has always been a source of healthy entertainment and instant and accurate news, besides shaping language skills of the people. He stressed that it is the only electronic media of the nation which covers nearly ninety eight percent population of the country. <br/><br/>The ?eight crore ?Rupees ?project of the new FM transmitter? and station?, will cater to people of Meerut with a reach of over seventy KMs radius. It will become operational within two years?, the minister said. Speaking about the threat of terrorism he said that we all have to be on a constant alert as threat is big and disguising. <br/><br/>He said that the steps taken by central government to curb the menace of terrorism are unprecedented. Talking about PM Modi's foreign visits, he said that the nation has gained in many ways by his international visits.
