The water woes in Mumbai took ugly turn when protesters were beaten up by the police which claimed life of one person. Hundreds of protesters had gathered outside the Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC) on Thursday in protest against the 15 per cent water cuts in the city.<br/><br/>The Morcha led by Maharashtra's Revenue Minister Narayan Rane's son Nitesh Rane who is the President of Swabhimani Sanghtana was arrested by the police and was later granted bail by the magistrates court.<br/><br/>AIR Correspondent reports, the deceased identified as Viral Dholakaia was the worker of the Swabhimani Sanghtana which had taken the Morcha at the BMC. Additional Commissioner of Police R.K. Padmanabhan said that the protester Viral Dholakia died due to heart attack.<br/><br/>10 workers of the Swabhimani Sanghtana who were injured in the police lathicharge were admitted to the nearest hospitals. Meanwhile Nitesh Rane who was later granted bail on surety bond of 5 thousand rupees has demanded inquiry on the police charge on protesters.<br/>
