The Maoist one day Jharkhand bandh today against the arrests of their leaders in Bihar, has witnessed violence. In their efforts to enforce a one-day bandh, the Maoists today torched five tractors in Palamau district. Speaking to AIR Ranchi Correspondent, the police sources said that around 20 to 25 rebels torched five tractors and thrashed some laborers involved in the road construction work near Itki, around 140 km from Ranchi. Police has started a manhunt to nab the culprit. The bandh has no effect in capital Ranchi. In other parts of the state, even in the remote areas, the response to the bandh is poor.
