Under rural housing scheme of Pradhan Mantri Awaas Yojana one crore pacca houses will be constructed in next three years. Out of this 30 lakh will be constructed in current year. <br/><br/>In a National Workshop in New Delhi, Rural Development Minister Chaudhary Birender Singh today said beneficiaries will be selected by Gram Shabha based on socio economic and cast census data. <br/><br/>Under this scheme, Rs 1.2 lakh financial assistance will be given per unit in plain areas and Rs 1.3 lakh in hilly and difficult areas. Mr. Singh said kitchen space will be integral part of house designs and beneficiary will get free LPG connection to relieve women from cooking smoke.<br/> <br/>The Minister also launched a mobile application, AwaasApp to monitor progress in house construction. The Minister released a mason training kit and launched Rural Housing Knowledge Network, a web based portal.
