<span style="color: #222222;">In Assam, 1 crore men days are generated in the state under MG NREGA. Talking to AIR Correspondent, Principal Secretary in the Panchayat and Rural Development department J B Ekka said that almost 9 lakh households worked during the past couple of months under MG NREGA.<br />''<br />''Mr. Ekka said that 230 crore rupees have been released as payments to the workers . He informed that around 40 percent women are working  under MG NREGA and steps are being taken to further encourage them. He  said that 57 thousand new job cards have also been issued by the panchayat.  Mr. Ekka further said that engagement options are also provided under PM Awas Yojna as construction of 50 thousand houses have been completed this month.  He mentioned that skill mapping of the workers who have  returned to Assam recently is being done. So far a database of 19 thousand migrant workers have been prepared.</span><br />
