One crew member killed in NATO helicopter crash in Afghanistan

In Afghanistan, a NATO helicopter crashed in Alah Say district of Kapisa province on Saturday killing one crew member and injuring another. A NATO statement said today that the cause of crash is unknown and is under investigation but a Taliban spokesman said they shot down the helicopter. NATO said they came under enemy fire when they arrived at the crash site. It said the two crew members were recovered by coalition forces but one died at the scene from injuries received in the crash. Aircraft recovery operations and heavy fighting continue in the area. Meanwhile, two foreign soldiers were killed in roadside bomb attacks in southern Afghanistan where tens of thousands of Afghan and international troops are bracing up for an expected resurgence of Taliban attacks this spring.
