In Assam, one civilian was killed and security forces arrested four ULFA insurgents at Khowang in Dibrugarh district on Sunday. State Home Secretary GD Tripathi said that a joint team of army and police cordoned off the Nijaraparia village following a tip-off. This sparked off firing from ULFA, in which one civilian was killed, while the Officer In-Charge of Moran Police station sustained injury in the gun battle. His condition is stable now.
