In Afghanistan, one child was killed and 29 others injured in a suicide attack in the northern Balkh province. The attack took place when a suicide bomber blew himself up in front of a convoy of NATO troops in Balkh district of the province. He said the 29 people were in a passenger bus passing by the scene at the time of the bombing. Officials blamed the dreadful attack on Taliban militants.
