<span style="color: #222222;">In Manipur, a jawan of the 16th Assam Rifles Battalion was martyred and another injured when a powerful IED blasted at Waithou Sangomsang Tharaorok in Thoubal district this afternoon.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' Police said that the IED was blasted while the jawans of 16th Assam Rifles Battalion were on foot patrolling in the area. The deceased jawan is L. Wangchu from Arunachal Pradesh while the injured jawan is a resident of Tripura State and he is getting treatment at SHIJA Hospital in Imphal.</span><br />'' <span style="color: #222222;"><br />'' A police team led by Thoubal SP Jogeschandra Haobijam rushed to the spot and started spot investigation. He said that the IED was planted near a Water Supply Scheme Reservoir and the Assam Rifles jawans used to cross the spot while performing foot patrolling. The police has filed FIR and started investigation.</span><br />
