In Kerala, the week long state level Onam celebrations will begin tomorrow. Chief Minister Oommen Chandy will inaugurate the cultural festival organised by the department of tourism that attracts large number of domestic and foreign tourists every year.In God's own country, Keralities are in the grip of onam celebrations. Even if Thiruvonam, the most auspicious day is on coming Friday, the run upto the national festival is marked by pomp and gaiety. Economic activity worth hundreds of crores take place during Onam season in Kerala.The week long state level celebrations that gets unveiled tomorrow will show case the cultural diversity and richness of Kerala. Eminent artists from across the country will add to the festivity by performing Kathkali, Mohiniyattom, Kuchipudi and Bharathnatyam. For the first time a team from Sri Lanka will showcase simhala dance as part of Onam celebrations.
