The Centre on 27th March 2023, Monday informed that on the basis of observation of various studies regarding potential interference of 5G signals on the operations of aircraft, different safeguards have been advised to the Telecom Service Providers (TSP).<br />'' <br />''The Minister of State for Civil Aviation Gen (Retd.) V.K Singh said the review of the studies and action taken by various countries has shown there may be chances of adverse effects of C band 5G signals on vital aircraft systems and can lead to unsafe aircraft operations.<br />'' <br />''He said TSPs have been advised to establish safety and buffer zones in the vicinity of airports while setting up 5G telecom towers.<br />'' <br />''The MoS further added that the telecom companies have been advised to restrict the power levels of C-Band 5G transmissions around the airports.<br />'' <br />''The Minister said the companies have also been suggested to tilt 5G base stations to such an extent that the 5G transmission does not interfere with the radio altimeters of aircraft.<br />
