<span style="color: #222222;">In Maharashtra, the State Cabinet today discussed about prevention of COVID variant Omicron in Maharashtra. The meeting was chaired by Chief Minister Uddhav Thackray. He said that, the government should get information about foreign passengers regularly so that monitoring could be done in order to prevent infection.<br />'' <br />'' Mr Thackray also suggested that, if foreign passengers alight in other cities in India and then arrive in Mumbai by domestic airlines or rail or road, their screening is a problem and the matter should be taken to Prime Minister.<br />'' <br />'' All international and domestic airlines should regularly exchange information about passengers, so it would be easy to search COVID patient and persons who have come in his contact. Mr Thackray said that, for the present, mask is extremely important for avoiding infection. Foreign passengers should be sent to seven days of quarantine.<br />'' <br />'' State Government has extended the deadline for candidates for submitting cast certificates in local bodies elections by one year. The candidates who fight elections on reserved seats have to submit their valid cast certificates.<br />'' <br />'' The last date for nomination for elections would be on or before 31 December 2022.  If the candidate applies for cast certificate to the scrutiny committee before date of nomination and if he has not got cast certificate, he or she can apply in 12 months period from the date of declaration of result. </span><br />''
