<br/>Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah spoke to Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh over phone and briefed him on the law and order situation in the Valley. Mr Omar apprised the Prime Minister about the steps being taken by the state government in restoring normalcy in the state which include cracking down on mischief-makers and miscreants. <br/><br/>The Chief Minister also spoke twice to the Home Minister P Chidambaram and also to Defence Minister A K Antony about the developments. <br/><br/>Meanwhile, Union Home Secretary G K Pillai who flew in to Srinagar from Delhi met the Chief Minister and reviewed the overall law and order situation. Mr Pillai assured the Chief Minister of complete support of the Centre in maintaining peace in the Valley. Army in the meantime staged flag marches in curfew-bound Srinagar after it was moved into the city to assist civil authorities in maintaining law and order. <br/><br/>A defence spokesman said, the flag marches were conducted in Lal Chowk in the heart of the city and on the Srinagar Airport Road. Curfew is in force in Anantnag, Pampore, Pulwama and Kulgam in South Kashmir and Kupwara and Bandipore in North Kashmir. Restrictions are also in force at Sopore and Baramulla where Army also staged a flag march. Official sources said in Srinagar that the state police has launched a major crackdown against mischief-makers throughout the valley.<br/>
