Ahead of the meeting of the Cabinet Committee on Security(CCS) on Kashmir, Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah today met the Finance and Defence Ministers in Delhi to seek their support on his demand of ammendment to the Armed Forces Special Powers Act (AFSPA) or its partial withdrawal. Mr Omar Abdullah yesterday held detailed discussions with the Prime Minister on the issue. Later talking to reporters he said to begin with four districts of the state can be chosen for the withdrawal of AFSPA. The Cabinet Committee on Security is expected to meet tomorrow to discuss the issue. The Prime Minister Dr Manmohan Singh early this week told journalists that the CCS will discuss Kashmir situation threadbare. He added that people must be patient as Kashmir problem has been there for over 60 years. The Jammu and Kashmir government has also been demanding a comprehensive political package including dialogue with all shades of opinion.
