The government has decided to replace all Thermal Power Plants which are 25 year old with new technology and they will be converted into super critical power stations with more production capacity.

Minister of State for Power Piyush Goyal today informed in the Lok Sabha that gas-based power plants are not viable due to non-availability of gas and higher prices of Naphta.
