Oil rises to 82 dollars a barrel amid spread of Omicron Variant

Oil rose to around 82 dollars a barrel supported by tight supply and hopes that rising coronavirus cases and the spread of the Omicron variant will not derail a global demand recovery.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude was trading around 82 dollars per barrel while WTI crude prices were at 79 dollars and 40 cents per barrel.
