Oil rebounded in Asian trade today following better-than-expected industrial production figures from the United States. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in May, gained 16 cents to 88.88 dollar a barrel, while Brent North Sea crude climbed back above the 100 dollar mark after falling to a nine-month low the day before. The Brent contract for June delivery was up 39 cents to 100.30 dollar in morning trade in Asia. It had slumped to 98 dollar per barrel yesterday, its lowest point since July 11, 2012.
