Oil prices today steadied after a volatile session sparked by confusion over the status of the U.S.-China trade deal.

In intra-day trade, Brent crude prices were trading at 43 dollars and 80 cents per barrel while WTI crude prices were at 41 dollars and 40 cents per barrel.
