Oil prices rose in Asian trade today as tensions sparked by the killing of the US ambassador to Libya and a German court ruling on a eurozone bailout fund helped boost prices. New York's main contract, light sweet crude for delivery in October, was up eight cents to 97.09 dollars a barrel in the morning, while Brent North Sea crude for the same month was up 12 cents to 116.08 dollars a barrel.
