Oil prices rose above 79 USD a barrel today in Asia. Benchmark crude for April delivery was up 34 cents to 79.20 USD a barrel at midday Singapore time in electronic trading on the New York Mercantile Exchange. The contract had lost 1.45 USD to settle at USD 78.86 yesterday.
