Oil prices rise in Asian trade

Oil prices rose in Asian trade on Friday. New York's light sweet crude climbed 18 cents to 77.64 dollars a barrel while Brent North Sea crude for January rose 23 cents to 77.87dollars a barrel. Analysts said the reason that oil is up is probably due to the fact that many investors view pricing below 78 dollars a barrel as a buying opportunity.
