Oil prices firm up in Asian trade

Oil prices firmed up in Asian trade today as a weaker US dollar spurred buying in the commodity. New York's light sweet crude gained 35 cents to 74.87 dollars a barrel while Brent North Sea crude was up 26 cents to 72.80 dollars a barrel.
