Oil prices eased in Asian trade on Thursday. New York's light sweet crude lost 55 cents to 77.12 dollars a barrel while London's Brent North Sea was off 22 cents at 77.92 dollars a barrel.Analysts said the fall in prices is due to weakening of markets and profit booking by investors following a surge above 78 dollars a barrel.
